Our spring concert is a colourful, intense blend of traditional, classical and sacred pieces describing the many aspects of love. We'll present James Macmillan's magical setting of The Gallant Weaver, Latin American classics from Brazil and Argentina and Whitney Houston's all-time great I wanna dance with somebody. Francis Poulenc's Ave Verum Corpus and the stunning 14th Century Agnus Dei from Worcester Cathedral, along with sacred pieces by Samuel Barber and Knut Nystedt, explore Easter themes of divine love and sacrifice.
The hour-long concert will take place in the Storey's Field Centre, Eddington, an award-winning venue to the North West of Cambridge. Free parking is available a five-minute walk away in the Madingely Road Park and Ride. The performance will be followed by a post-concert reception when you can enjoy an exhibition of paintings by our resident artist Lesley Fotherby.
With Lucy Bunce (harp), Giulio Lampronti (double bass)
